Make An IFrame To Contain Another Blog On Your Blog Page

When you want to merge two websites (either or both being a blog), yet keep the content of each separate, the most obvious solution is to use the same template on each, and link between the two in a consistent fashion. The reader of either blog never has to know when he's viewing the other, unless he habitually observes the content of the browser Address window.

But how about if you would like to display one blog, in its entirety, in the middle of the other blog page? That's a feature called an IFrame. It's a deceptively simple solution too.

<iframe width="100%" frameborder="0" src="http://bloggerstatusforreal.blogspot.com/2007/11/make-iframe-to-contain-another-blog-on.html" height="400"></iframe>

You can put an IFrame in either a blog post, or in a special page element. It's a dynamic window; when you change something in the blog contained in the window, the contents of the window changes too. Just refresh, and you can see the change.

An IFrame is a nice substitute for a newsfeed, when you are including a private blog in another web site. Since a newsfeed isn't available for a private blog, it's useless in this case. An IFrame works as well for a private blog as it does for a public blog. Remember, of course, that access to any IFrame requires access to both the IFrame host web site, and to the source web site.

One caveat here, which may be an asset or a liability, is that the content of an IFrame won't be picked up by the search engines. If the text inside the iframe is important content that needs to be indexed with the host blog, you won't want to put it inside an iframe. On the other hand, if you have text that you explicitly do not want indexed, an iframe can be a perfect solution.

It's got a number of settings that can make it more useful to you. You can set the height and width of the IFrame, to determine how much screen space, inside your blog, that you wish to use to display the IFrame contents. If the IFrame contents are larger than the allocated space, by default you'll get scroll bars; these can, at your own risk, be deactivated.

Remember that, as the text size is varied by the reader, the overall size of the contents inside the IFrame will vary, just as the contents of the blog outside the IFrame. Instead of specifying an absolute height or width in pixels, you can specify either in %, and have the IFrame size decrease or increase as the reader necessitates.

Depending upon what effect you desire, you'll want either the IFrame host web site, or the source web site, to be as plain as possible. If you have a normal blog with a page header, post column, and one or two sidebars, you will want the IFrame source web site to have a very plain template. For instance, if you're creating a second blog to contain posts that will be accessible only to a select few of your readers, you'll want to display an IFrame that only contains a posts column - any page header, sidebar, and / or footer section will just take up valuable screen space on the host web site, or force excessive horizontal or vertical scrolling inside the iframe window.

10 Husbands, Still a Virgin!

A lawyer married a woman who had previously divorced ten husbands.

On their wedding night, she told her new husband, "Please be gentle, I'm still a virgin."

"What?" said the puzzled groom.

"How can that be if you've been married ten times?"

"Well, Husband #1 was a sales representative: he kept telling me how great it was going to be.

Husband #2 was in software services: he was never really sure how it was supposed to function, but he said he'd look into it and get back to me.

Husband #3 was from field services: he said everything checked out diagnostically but he just couldn't get the system up.

Husband #4 was in telemarketing: even though he knew he had the order, he didn't know when he would be able to deliver.

Husband #5 was an engineer: he understood the basic process but wanted three years to research, implement, and design a new state-of-the-art method.

Husband #6 was from finance and administration: he thought he knew how, but he wasn't sure whether it was his job or not.

Husband #7 was in marketing: although he had a nice product, he was never sure how to position it.

Husband #8 was a psychologist: all he ever did was talk about it.

Husband #9 was a gynecologist: all he did was look at it.

Husband #10 was a stamp collector: all he ever did was... God! I miss him! But now that I've married you, I'm really excited!"

"Good," said the new husband, "but, why?"

"You're a lawyer. This time I know I'm gonna get screwed!"

Earthquake & Tsunami on Japan!

Quake, tsunami devastate Japan, more than 1000 dead!

More than 1,000 people were feared dead in the massive tsunami triggered by Japan's most powerful earthquake which wrought devastation in northeast coastal Japan forcing the government to declare emergency at two nuclear plants after their cooling systems failed. Kyodo news agency reported that 217 bodied have been recovered while the toll could be over 1,000.

The cooling systems in two key nuclear power plants at Fukushima plant were disabled and Japan's nuclear safety agency has said that the plant will release slightly radioactive vapour from the unit to lower the pressure in an effort to protect the reactor from a possible meltdown.

Prime Minister Naoto Kan ordered evacuation of over 45,000 residents living within 10-kilometres radius of the nuclear plants.
A strong 6.7-magnitude earthquake hit the country's mountainous Niigata prefecture northwest of Tokyo early this morning, causing landslides and avalanches and destroying some wooden houses.
On Friday, the gushing waters following the 8.9-magnitude quake, the most powerful since the 1923 tremor in Great Kanto area in Tokyo and its vicinity which was 7.9 on Richter scale and had killed more than 140,000 people, swept houses, overturned ships, vehicles and set ablaze several buildings, including a petrochemical plant.
Most of the bodies were recovered from Sendai.
Japan's military-mobilized thousands of troops, 300 planes and 40 ships have been set up for the relief effort, Kyodo reported.
At least 60 people were killed in Iwate prefecture and other places. A 67-year-old man was killed after being hit by a crumbling wall in Chiba prefecture, while a woman in her 50s died after a portion of a roof of a hall collapsed in Tokyo.
The National Police Agency said 531 people were reported missing and 627 others were injured in the quake and the 33-foot tidal waves in the country's northeast coast.
Television images showed fires raging in several building complexes as also a major petrochemical complex in Sendai. The tsunami also flooded the Sendai airport.

Valentine Special!!!

Valentine's day is a ideal event to show love for your beloved and dear ones. The best manner to celebrate the day is to do something unique that your Valentine will treasure for life. As we know that love is essential part of well-civilized human beings. Love makes us alive, it makes proper relationship between different people. It gives the way to express feelings of two hearts. So, this day (Valentine Day) is essential day for all the young hearts as well as those who are the setting stage of their life.
I personally wishes happy Valentine Day 2011 for all those new hearts who are being hunger to get their beloved.

Well, you don't need to break the proverbial stars or mark names in the sky to celebrate the event. Valentine's Day can be made unique by easy gestures like sending red roses, writing romantic, loving and heartfelt poetry or cooking a special dinner for your beloved.

We frequently find youngsters getting into advance planning with their counterparts. This exciting, yet favorable day was started by two grand saints before the middle ages.

Ultimately, it became a day of love and merry-making. On this day, the lovers convey their love for their beloveds by presenting red flowers, Valentine cards, singing romantic songs, etc. Gift hampers, soft toys, jewelry, wrist watches, mobiles phones, delicious chocolates, cosmetics, perfumes, home appliances, flowers and a number of gift items are demanding gift on the Valentine's Day.
Different people celebrate this event in different ways. Love is worldwide and all people like to love and be loved. For this basis, they set aside Valentines Day to be a day where they celebrate all the love they have for together. Most people therefore get this chance to visit those loved ones and if nothing else, spend the time with each other. They undertake different activities just to make confident that they tie at this time. Some others who make a party out of the day and seem for different friends to come and celebrate in a more elaborate way. There is no suspicion that people who cost the day go out of their way to rejoice Valentines Day in their own unique way
